Curling is always a heavily discussed sport when the Winter Olympics take place as many question what the sport is all about and how simple it must be to play.
While interesting and unusually fun to watch I must say as I have been guilty this go round as I have watched a few “ends.”
The State of South Carolina does not have an official Winter Sport but that could soon change if State Rep. Bruce Bannister (R-Greenville) has his say. He has introduced a resolution that would make curling the official Winter Olympic Sport of South Carolina.
I applaud this effort as it could help to grow the sport in the US and especially in the South. I know having the ice and the equipment could be a hindrance but I say why not. What can it hurt for the State of South Carolina to come out and issuance a strong statement like this….What do you think – to curl or not to curl?
