Cedrick Cooper of Lithonia, Georgia is keeping three schools on their toes heading into Signing Day. For those fans of Arkansas, Ole Miss and South Carolina there is much to keep up with concerning his recruitment because of his “back and forths.”
Cooper has lots of upside at linebacker with good speed and a knack for being around the ball. Bottom line is he is a play-maker that should only get better than his three stars indicate. Each of the three schools need depth at linebacker, thus the push to land his services.
Let’s review his recent recruitment activity—Cooper committed to USC shortly after his official visit then took a trip to Arkansas and gave them his verbal pledge to sign. All that within a week. Then last week, Cooper decommitted from the Razorbacks and decided to stick with his first pledge to South Carolina. But this past weekend, Cooper took his official visit to Ole Miss. Confused yet?
So three schools are trying their best to ‘seal the deal’ with Cooper. May have to wait until the pen hits the papers to truly know which school he picks and sticks with. Going into Signing Day, he is a “Gamecock lean” as he has stated he is going to sign but has not given a offical verbal so keep your fingers crossed as USC needs him.
