The USC Gamecocks recruiting for basketball continues and a new name has emerged that Coach Darrin Horn is looking at, Brenton Williams. The 5’11” combo guard out of Santa Fe College is on campus this weekend looking at South Carolina as a place to finish out his college career.
Brenton Williams is the latest potential target for Coach Horn to fill the gaps in his basketball team. Some other players he is looking at are: Eli Carter, Hickey, Colvin, and Ware.
Williams was recently selected as a All Mid-Florida Basketball team member for the 2010-2011 season, in which, he averaged 11.8 points, 1.7 assists and 2.0 rebounds per game.
Williams has three years of eligibility after spending one year at Santa Fe College. Here is a nice video of a poster dunk he did and his official bio from SF –

2010-11 Prospectus – Brenton is an explosive and athletic scoring guard. A proficient shooter with deep range. Brenton is an elite athlete with exceptional speed and quickness, making him difficult to guard off the dribble.
High School – Three year varsity boy’s basketball starter. As a sophomore (2007-08) was named to the Orange Belt All Conference Team. Averaged 14.3 points, 3.8 assists, 2.1 rebounds. As a junior (2008-09), was named Osceola County Player of the Year, Orange Belt All Conference Team, and voted to the District 10 Class 6A All-Region Team for Orange and Osceola Counties by the Florida Athletic Coaches Association. Averaged 16.7 points, 4 rebounds, 3.5 assists. As a senior (2009-10), was named the Great Florida Shootout Tournament MVP (averaged 28.5 points for tournament), Osceola County Player of the Year, Orange Belt All Conference Team, All Central Florida First-Team voted by the Orlando Sentinel and area coaches, Selected and played in the Boys North-South All-Star basketball classic at Embry Riddle Agronomical in Daytona Beach, Fl…Selected and played in the Florida Association of Basketball Coaches All-Star Game (tied for game high with 18 points, 4 assists, 2 steals)…Averaged 25.7 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.5 steals while shooting 55% from the field, 40% from 3pt, and 90% from the free throw line …Voted to the Class 5A All-State Second-Team by Floridahoops.com…Honored at the Bright House Sports Network Breakfast of Champions Sports award for Osceola County as the Boys Basketball Athlete of the Year.
