College Football recruiting is heating up as the final stretch is beginning with National Signing Day approaching. Below are some South Carolina Gamecocks recruiting notes to feed your hunger today concerning guys still on the USC board.

Anderson and Roberts
–Let’s not forget TE Rory Anderson and LB Marquis Roberts indicated they would announce during the week of Jan. 16th. Still a USC lean for both. Anderson did go to UT this past weekend. USC head coach Steve Spurrier will make his in home visit with Anderson this week
LB Dexter Staley
–Likely Georgia Miltary JC enrollee in the fall due to grades.
–Visit for UGa set for 1/28. Could visit USC on 1/21 but not solid yet.
–Loves USC but due to “the numbers” may end up a Dawg. UGa has a lot of interest in him as their LB corp all just went pro so they need to develop their depth.
–Question remains, once GMC is over will he go with the Dawgs or USC.
QB Tanner McEvoy
–Choosing between UNC and USC. Could be decided within two weeks. Leaning USC.
–Visited UNC recently and has already been to USC.
DB Sheldon Royster
–Choosing between Rutgers and USC.
— He is a USC lean. He plans to announce his college decision Thursday night at 8:30.

DL Leon Mackey
–Former USC signee.
–Visited Mississippi State this past weekend.
–Down to MSU Bulldogs, USC, Texas Tech and Tennessee. Could go any direction and USC limited with “numbers” could be a factor at the end.
–USC recruiter Lorenzo Ward will meet with him the first part of the week.
–Could have his mind made up by Tuesday night on where to go so stay tuned.
QB Jacoby Brissett
–The other QB target for USC. He is friends with USC basketball player Ramon Galloway and has expressed interest in playing both in college but that is not likely.
–Attended the USC – UF game yesterday.
–Suppose to visit USC on 1/21. Likes USC but likes and choosing are two different stories.
–UF is pursuing this Flordia native very hard.
OL Brandon Shell
–A USC commitment but did go to Alabama over the weekend with Clowney.
–No worries here as he is solid “Garnet and Black.”
DL Phillip Dukes
–Continues to favor USC going into his visits.
–USC Coach Shane Beamer met with him this past Friday.
–Visited Clemson over this past weekend and heads to Alabama for a mid-week visit.
–Will visit USC on 1/21.
DT Kevin McReynolds
–Long shot for USC but has indicated he would like to visit USC towards end of January. Nothing set yet.
DB Ahmad Christian
–USC Coach Steve Spurrier Jr. will meet with Ahmad, who could be a DB or Safety, on Tuesday.
–Official visitor to USC for next weekend. Christian also has set a visit with Tennessee for January 28th. He’s also considering Auburn and Miami.
–A USC lean for now but did visit Louisville over the weekend.
–If he does go with SC and sign, there is still something to watch and that is his baseball career. Ahmad is a talented shortstop and scouts have told him he could be a top five round pick this summer. His desire is to play both sports in college. So Tanner could be a factor also.
–USC needs him since Finnie left as they need depth in the secondary.
DE Roderick Byers
–Oregon has picked up their recruitment of him. Could visit SC or Ducks this weekend.
LB Cedric Cooper
–Will be on a visit to USC on 1/21. Visited NC State this past weekend.
TE/ATH Jerrell Adams
–USC is still out front for Adams. Not a lot of movement with him but he did visit Clemson over the weekend.
DE Jadeveon Clowney
–Visited Alabama this past weekend. SC native Josh Fulton was his host.
–Will visit FSU on 1/21 and now Clemson on 1/28 as of today.
