Make sure you read our last post and here is a quick rundown of the latest Gamecocks recruiting news…
—Being reported, QB Jacoby Brissett (West Palm Beach, Fla) will visit the Gamecocks during the weekend of Jan. 28-30
—LB Marquise Roberts is announcing his decision today @ 10am. Gamecocks or Cincinnati is what he is down to and I say USC.
—Roberts teammate Rory Anderson will also commit at the same time like what was planned. TE Rory Anderson [Poweder Springs, Ga.] will make his college choice between Tenn and SC. He visited UT last weekend.
—Jadeveon Clowney met 18-20 college recruiters on Tuesday. He’ll visit FSU this weekend, Clemson Jan. 21. Coach says he leans to the Gamecocks.
—Steve Spurrier went to Peachtree Ridge High School yesterday to have a sit-down meeting with DL commitment Angelo Watley.
—ATH Ameer Abdullah has eliminated the Gamecocks and is down to Nebraska & Southern Cal.
—DT Kevin McReynolds has penciled in his two remaining official visits before committing on February 2nd – Mississippi State and Kansas State. Seems SC is no longer in the running.
—OLB Cedrick Cooper, official visit scheduled to Ole Miss on 1/28. However, Cooper said Monday night he’s not sure he’ll need to take it due to his visit to USC this weekend. This is good for USC and hope he gives his verbal this weekend as SC could use him.
—LB Dexter Staley is a ‘Dawg. All signs are pointing to him signing with UGa and then going to Prep School.
—Gamecocks recruiting target QB Tanner McEvoy of NJ will announce his decision Thursday and it is down to SC or UNC.
—DB Sheldon Royster of Jersey City, NJ will announce his college choice Thursday night at 9:00 at his home his mother said Tuesday night. Royster will announce for either USC or Rutgers.
In other news, the Gamecocks have invited 2013 OL/C DeAndre Wise to their JR Day on Jan. 29. He will be playing at Alpharetta this season.
Our predictions for the next 48 hours… Royster, McEvoy, Anderson and Roberts will choose the Gamecocks.
