Baseball

Coach Tanner got a commitment from INF George Iskendarian (6-2 190) of Englewood Cliffs, NJ. He had originally committed to Maryland.

Football

DB Chaz Elder is right now on a visit to South Carolina.  Elder is down to three schools and those are South Carolina, Georgia, and Vanderbilt. I predict USC as he wants early playing time and USC can offer it.  Decision is suppose to be in August.

Gimel President has chosen his final three schools and wants to make a decision before his season begins. South Carolina is in the running with Auburn and North Carolina.

2013 recruit in Tramel Terry chose UGa but don’t count out USC.  He is expected to visit USC soon.  He chose UGa at ‘Dawg Night’ but could switch so watch this one.

DB Elijah Shumate of Ramsey, NJ has shaken up his top five. Shumate said that list now consists of USC, Notre Dame, Michigan, Georgia Tech and Rutgers in no order.

Joe Harris of Lithonia, GA will announce his college decision next Wednesday. Harris said USC, Mississippi State, Alabama and Georgia remain on his list.  He likely a Gamecock and projects to be a offensive guard at USC.

ATH Marty Williams (6-2 210) of Fox Creek continues to distant himself from USC.  He was at GT recently and camps at Clemson and Florida.

The Gamecocks pursuit of QB Greyson Lambert of Jesup, GA is done.  Both sides are going a different direction.

One to watch is QB Anthony Alford (6-2 220) out of Petal, MS who told the Jackson Clarion Ledger he has cut his list to USC, Southern Miss, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, LSU, Nebraska and Alabama. Last season, he passed for 1399 yards and 16 touchdowns and rushed for 1253 yards and 19 touchdowns. In baseball he hit .451 this past baseball season.  Would be a nice add but USC has a long road ahead to get him to say yes to Carolina.
