On Tuesday, the NCAA denied USC Gamecocks forward Dominique Archie’s request for a sixth year of eligibility.
The denial ends the career of the forward from Augusta. Archie and Coach Darrin Horn had stated publicly that they thought their request was a toss-up. Initially it was expected that the appeal would revolve around whether Archie missed his freshman year because of an injury or for strategic reasons.
We here at Leftover Hot Dog are disappointed we won’t get to see Archie play in garnet anymore, but wish him the best in his professional career. This was in a way to be expected but hope was that the NCAA would allow one more year. Archie is a long shot for NBA but will most likely take his game to Europe to sharpen the skills while earning a paycheck playing a game he loves.
