USC Gamecocks Women’s Golf Team Claim NCAA East Regional Crown

The USC Gamecocks Women’s Golf Team shot a final-day, 2-over 290 to finish at even-par 864 for the tournament and beat Tennessee by two strokes wo claim the NCAA East Regional Crown. Entering the day they were down 5 strokes but mounted a nice comeback to claim their first tourney win in five years.

I know this is something we have never written about on LOHD but the performance by these women was great as they battled hard to represent the Garnet and Black nicely.

Congrats to the ladies and congrats to South Carolina sophomore Katie Burnett who claimed the individual crown and lead the charge to help win the team championship for USC at the NCAA East Regional on Saturday at Ironwood Country Club.

USC and the rest of the top-eight finishers advance to the NCAA Championship, which runs May 18-21 at the Country Club of Landfall in Wilmington, N.C.

Good Luck Ladies and know that Gamecock Nation and LOHD are very proud of you gals. Keep it up and bring home the NCAA Championship!
