Word out of USC, besides the baseball team’s parade and championship celebration, is the two recruits have failed to qualify for freshman eligibility this coming fall. Most knew Kelcy Quarles was on the fence if he would make the necessary test scores to earn a seat in this year’s freshman class but a surprise name to come forward is Duvan Milsap. Seems he too has failed to meet the standards to be able to enroll this fall at Carolina.
Kelcy will enroll at Fork Union Prep and plans to enroll at SC in January 2011. I think this is a big blow to the team as he could have made a impact early on the DL and the very least added some depth. Color me disappointed.
Duvan is going the junior college route. He was a good add on the OL for the future but as I noted in my OL preview, he was facing a redshirt.
Sad to see this occur to two good kids but hope they will hit the books in get back to USC very soon.
