Gamecocks Football Recruiting: Brandon Shell Commits to South Carolina

The South Carolina Gamecocks got a perfect post-Halloween treat as it is being reported this morning that Brandon Shell has pledged to be a Gamecock.

This is a big add for the 2011 recruiting class, especially on the offensive line as Shell is listed as four-star offensive tackle.  USC now has 5 OL commits for 2011 – 4 of 5 stand 6-6 or taller.

Shell is the nation’s No. 109 overall prospect and No. 11 offensive tackle according to 247Sports. He is the No. 3 overall prospect in the Palmetto State and is a U.S. Army All-American selection.

The 6-foot-7, 305-pounder Goose Creek native picked South Carolina over Georgia, Clemson and Alabama.

Welcome to Gamecock Nation Mr. Shell!
