Mumme Poll Ballot: Week Twelve

The Mumme poll seems to be down to less than 50 voters which means my vote will have even more sway in determining the standings.  Auburn is still my number one team, and per usual, I have listed the teams alphabetically.  Few of my Top 10 from last week lost, and the also-rans didn’t do much impressively, so the ballot looks very much like last week’s.  Here it is:

Arkansas

The Hogs won in double overtime on the road against Mississippi State.  They have been on the bottom part of my Top 10 for a few weeks now.  We should learn a lot from next week’s game against LSU.

Auburn

The Tigers were idle this week.  The Iron Bowl is up next.

Boise State

I could write the same thing for Boise every week.  The Broncos blew out a poor quality team.  It’s not impressive, but it’s not bad either.

LSU

The Tigers beat Ole Miss at home in unconvincing fashion.  If there was someone worthy to move up, I’d consider moving LSU down.

Oklahoma

The Sooners beat Baylor badly.  There are several schools who could be here.  This could change next week.

Oklahoma State

Like Boise, the Cowboys had a strong win against a weak opponent.  Unlike Boise, we’ll see the Cowboys play somebody better next week.

Oregon

The only time the Ducks’ offense isn’t flying is when they are idle, like this week.

Stanford

The Cardinal crushes a Cal team that just took Oregon to the brink.  This is a good, good team.

TCU

The Horned Frogs were idle.  We probably won’t learn any more about them next week when they play New Mexico.

Wisconsin

The presumptive Big 10 champs took out Michigan by 20.  They would make an interesting match-up with Stanford in the Rose Bowl

Close, but not in my Top 10

Alabama

Alabama beat a completely overmatched Georgia State team.  They have a chance to play their way back in next week.

Michigan State

The Spartans were on the outside looking in, and they didn’t help their cause with a close win over Purdue.  Then again, if they beat Penn State next week, it will be hard to keep a 10-1 Big 10 team out.

Missouri

That was not a very impressive win over Iowa State.  Missouri still has a good resume and could find their way back into the Top 10.

Nebraska

The loss to Texas A&M drops the Huskers down, but it’s their lack of wins that may keep them out.

Ohio State

So, they beat Iowa.  Is that their best win?  Are they kidding?  Maybe the Buckeyes shouldn’t fill up on some many MAC-cakes.

South Carolina

Gamecocks have one really good win and a couple of nice ones, but three losses, particularly the one to Kentucky, are holding them back.

Texas A&M

Three losses are too many to overcome, but beating Nebraska, Baylor and Oklahoma makes for a good couple of weeks.
