Gamecock Attitude Heading Into Clemson

As much as we write and as much as fans talk, none of that will matter tomorrow night.  Like every game, the Clemson game will come down to the players.  We all study the players and their games and like to think that we can predict something about the way they will play, but there is always something that we on the outside aren’t privy to, and that is the attitude of the players.  Are the players looking ahead?  Are they focused?  Do they even care about this game?

Charles Swindoll wrote that the longer he lived the more he realized the impact of attitude on life.  The same thing is true about football games.  And while we don’t have access to practice or meetings, some players are made available for brief interviews.  Marcus Lattimore, Alshon Jeffrey, and T.J. Johnson were interviewed earlier this week.  In lieu of actual insight into the team’s attitude, here are a few quotes from them –

Marcus said that “we’ve got to keep preparing.  It’s all about preparation, knowing what they do. We gotta do good at what we do.  And, in fact, I think we’ll be fine.”

T.J. said that Clemson has a good defensive line, and “we’ve been trying to get in and watch extra film and get extra prepared.”

Alshon noted that he and D.J. Swearinger wre talking about the game the other day, and “We can’t wait until Saturday to get on that field.”

Seems to me like these guys are focused, but you can draw your own conclusions.
