Rivals Take on South Carolina is Right On

South Carolina football has begun their journay in defending their SEC East crown as one day of practice is down and today is day two.  Much to be sorted out and many players will be asked to step up their game before the first game.  Rivals previewed the Gamecocks recently and it is dead on in their look at USC.

The need for depth at wide out is crucial as USC needs second and/or third targets to help Alshon Jeffery plus the run game.  Jason Barnes, Ace Sanders, D.L. Moore and somebody at tight end must seize the chance to play a curical role in the offense.

I am not too worried at linebacker as Rivals mentions, I feel having Shaq Wilson and Rodney Paulk their will be just fine.  As for the offensive line, consistent contributions are needed as the need to find two new starters is a must but the good thing in 2011 is there are suspects (depth) in play to play larger roles.

One key area that is getting overlooked by fans we talk to is the need at kicker and punter.  Us South Carolina fans were spoiled by Spencer Lanning and Ryan Succop.  I hope Jay Wooten and Patrick Fish can allow USC to not skip a beat.

What are your thoughts in the Rivals South Carolina Preview?
