The South Carolina Gamecocks are looking to come off their recent bye week in a positive direction as they head to Knoxville to take on the Tennessee Volunteers.
The Gamecocks have 6-1 overall record and a 4-1 SEC mark. They are 13th in the BCS standings and lead the SEC East. Safe to say they control their destinity.
As pointed out in our preview, this Gamecocks is ripe for the Vols to be toppled by USC.
Here are a some things you may not know about the Vols:
—Tennessee is averaging 43.2 yards rushing in 4 SEC games this season. Of course, they’ve also played UF, UGA, LSU and Bama.
—The Gamecocks have beaten Tennessee just five times in 29 games over 108 years, but three of those wins have come since 2005
—South Carolina has never won consecutive games against Tennessee in series history. Vols lead all-time series 22-5-2
—The home team has won four consecutive games in this series since 2007. Vols own 14-1 record against Gamecocks at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville.
—The UT-South Carolina series has the second narrowest average margin of victory among all SEC matchups since 2000 (min. 10 games) at 9.0 points (UGA-SC leads with an 8.25 avg. margin).
