The University of South Carolina football squad finished the regular season in the Top 10. The Gamecocks moved from 14th to 10th in the A.P. poll and from 13th to ninth in the USA Today/Coaches’ poll.
For the Gamecocks, this is the first time they have finished the regular season ranked among the nation’s top 10 teams since the 1987 squad was 8-3 and ranked ninth by the AP.
The Gamecocks (10-2, 6-2 SEC) are now awaiting their bowl destination after concluding the 2011 season with 10 wins and defeating every team in the SEC Eastern Division.
