South Carolina Football: 5 Things the Gamecocks Want for Christmas

The South Carolina Football team is celebrating what we hope is a blessed Christmas and beginning to get in the mood to beat Nebraska in the upcoming Capital One Bowl.

Here are five things the Gamecocks want for Christmas:

  1. A Capital One Bowl Win – it will be a battle but the win is there.  All USC has to do is seize the moment.
  2. A Top 10 Recruiting Class – the Gamecocks are positioned well for ending up with a Top 20 class but want USC could really use is a Top 10 class and landing these five targets will go a long way to getting that goal.
  3. Excellent Coaching Hires – USC needs to bring in at least two new coaches to fill the shoes vacated by Ellis Johnson on defense and Jay Graham on the offensive side of the ball.  Many names are rumored but what is for sure is the coaches brought it must turn it up a notch and take where those before them left off and get the program in a better place.
  4. An easy 2012 SEC Schedule – the new SEC schedule could come out in a matter of days incorporating Texas A&M and Missouri.  For USC’s sake, let’s hope the rumors of having LSU and Arkansas plus the full slate of SEC East opponents are not true.
  5. NCAA Peace – the Gamecocks are hoping the mess with the NCAA is done with soon enough and the self-imposed penalties are good enough.

Merry Christmas Gamecocks!
