41 was the number of rushes against Georgia last season. The Bulldogs are supposed to have a stout defense this season. They had better if they’re going to win in Columbia. Last season they gave up 253 yards and 6.2 yards per rush. (Of course Melvin Ingram’s fake punt didn’t hurt either.)
41 may sound like a lot of rushes, but it really wasn’t for the Gamecocks last season. In fact, USC only rushed for fewer than 40 carries in three games last season: Auburn, Arkansas and Citadel. It’d be nice to see the offense in a position to rush 40 or more times every game. If we can do that, we can win some games.
