There are eight days left til the USC Gamecocks kick off the 2012 football season against Vandy up in Nashville. Here is a list of things you should get done before next Thursday…
1.) Go to Gamecocksonline.com and print off a copy of the roster so you are not the only person at the party asking why Lattimore is on defense too. The other #21 is DeVonte Holloman.
2.) Go by Garnet and Black traditions at Jewelry Warehouse and pick up some new Gamecock gear. You don’t want to be the only person in town not wearing ‘garnet and black’ next Thursday. You could also hit up Britton’s of Columbia and pick up one of the new Gamecock Southern Tide shirts.
3.) Figure out where you are going to watch the game. Most places in Columbia will fill up fast for the Thursday night showdown. I recommend some place in the Vista if you are in Columbia like the Wild Hare, Wild Wings and/or the Ale House as they are all sports bars with plenty of TV’s. Another good place with plenty of TV’s and low price drinks is Tin Roof.
4.) If you are watching the game at your house and you are feeling a little adventures with your adult beverage choices. You might want to try a Bell’s Oberon ale, Abita amber or anything from Highland brewery. All these beers can be found at Green’s or Total Wine.
5.) Also a friend reminded me that if you do decide to hit the bars, make sure you have a designated drive or take a cab as Police will be in full force. Be smart.
