South Carolina football got good news today as Kelsey Griffin announced his intentions to commit to be a Gamecock. This comes on the heels of USC beating Georgia on the football field and just two weeks ago Griffin had pledged to be a Bulldog. Seems shunning UGa and going with USC is his choice and those that know recruiting feel he is a strong prospect that should do well on the USC defensive line.
The 6-foot-1, 290-pound defensive tackle from Mill Creek High School is a 4-star recruit who is ranked as the nation’s No. 5 defensive tackle by 247sports.com. He had offers from from programs like Georgia, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Georgia Tech and Tennessee among many more but ultimately came down to the Bulldogs and Gamecocks.
The Gamecocks now have 21 verbal commitments in their 2013 recruiting class, including nine from Georgia.
Welcome Kelsey. Now continue the tradition of a strong defensive tackle on the USC defensive line.
