South Carolina basketball recruiting got welcomed news today as Tyrone Johnson elected to end the suspense and make it known that he will transfer to the Gamecocks program from Villanova. The 6-foot-2 guard will enroll at USC for the 2013 spring semester and will be eligible to play the day after South Carolina's 2013 fall semester exams.
This is a nice pick-up for Coach Frank Martin as Johnson brings leadership and versatility to the backcourt. Coming out of high school he was a four star recruit, check out these highlights:

Now you see why this is a big recruit for the program. He will have three years to play at USC and expect him to help establish the "new" Gamecocks basketball program under Coach Martin.
