What a great start to the week as the South Carolina football team landed two pledges from two really great players to be the newest members of the Gamecock football squad.
Join me in welcoming Sherrod Pittman and Abu Lamin.
Lamin is a four-star JUCO defensive tackle that will join the 2014 class. He is a wide body that will anchor the line in the future as he has three years to play three years. Expect him to compete for time as soon as he gets to campus. He chose USC over the likes of Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Miami, Nebraska and Tennessee, among others. The 6-foot-5, 315-pounder is the 12th commitment of the 2014 class and is ranked the No. 2 JUCO DT in the country by 247Sports and No. 12 overall JUCO prospect.
Pittman is four-star outside linebacker that will be part of the 2015 class for the Gamecocks. For him, it was down to either USC or Florida. This was a major "get" for South Carolina as he is one of the top linebacking prospects in the nation. Pittman, 6-foot-1, 215 pound, is the Gamecocks' fifth commitment in the 2015 class.
Wow is all we can say. Grabbing these two men on the same day speaks volumes to the Gamecocks program. Both men are loaded with talent and will do great things at South Carolina. Join me in welcoming them and get excited Gamecock Nation as the momentum is mounting…..
