Gamecocks Football: Q & A with a Seminole

The USC vs. FSU bowl game is right around the corner and to get things started we reached out to our blogging pals at www.ChantRant.com, which is the best FSU blog site around.

Our two sites have agreed to swap some questions leading up to the Chick-fil-a Bowl so if you have a question that you want answered about FSU let me know and I will pass it along to them.  Hit us up on twitter, facebook or by email which the address is on the left-side of our site.

Here is my question on FSU to start-

-As a ‘Noles fan, are you satisfied with the season overall?  How would you rate Jimbo Fisher in Year One?

ChantRant’s Answer –

I’d say virtually all Seminole fans are very happy with Jimbo. When the season began, there were still some Bowden loyalists bitter about Bobby’s exit. But as the season progressed, the less you heard the name Bowden come up among fans.

So while it wasn’t a great season — “great” meaning akin to our dynasty years in the late 80s to 2001 with two national titles — the Seminole nation has made the transition — happily or grudgingly — to Jimbo Fisher as the new face of the program. Any of the faithful who still had doubts about the coaching change are now 100% on board after Fisher’s team beat Florida (first time in six years) and won the Atlantic division (first time in five years).

The Seminole nation sees even better times ahead, thanks to what looks like another Top Ten recruiting class, as well as a strong core of returning players.

Bottom line: In one year the FSU community has gone from divided to united behind a coach who’s working tirelessly, as well as smartly, to bring the Noles back to a perennial power that can win the ACC, land a BCS bowl spot, and eventually challenge for a national championship again.
