If day two is anything like day one of the tournament, my bracket will be done. I am not sure if there is a prize for picking the loser of every first round game, but I am well on my way. Here are a few things to watch for today.
1.) Can Wofford be the story of the day with a upset over Wisconsin? This is why the NCAA tournament is so great. A small school of 1400 students can compete at the same level for one day against a school of 42,000 students. Go Terriers
2.) Today’s two national media big upset predictions are Cornell over Temple and Siena over Purdue. Granted both could happen, but it seems when ESPN is picking the upset, stay away. Both should be great games.
3.) As a gamecock diehard fan, I hope Clemson loses every game they play by 50 points. With that being said, I have a feeling OP and the tigers finally get over the first round hump. OP can finally take the monkey off his back. Missouri is a good team, and matches up with Clemson well, but I have a feeling the Booker boys will take over late. Look for a high scoring game.
4.) LOHD upset special for day two: Houston over Maryland. Houston was a middle of the pack C-USA team, but has the guard play to give Maryland trouble. Look for a fast paced game, that will likely come down to the end.
5.) Players that you might not know to look out for: Ryan Wittman(Cornell), Aubrey Coleman(Houston), Jahmar Young(New Mexico State), Jonathan Gibson(New Mexico State) , Lavoy Allen(Temple) and Alex Franklin(Siena)
6.) Quote of the day: Jay Bilas ESPN “ This is the weakest at large field in the history of the 64 team tournament”
The tournament heats up again today at 12:20. I think we can only hope for another day like yesterday. Stay tuned as we head towards the 2nd round of the tournament.
