SEC basketball has reached the middle point of the conference play. Lots of movement from where the teams started to where they are heading into the final weeks before “March Maddness” kicks in.
Here is this Gamecocks Blog’s ballot for this week’s SEC Basketball Power Poll:
1. Florida – Gators took a chop out of “Big Blue Nation” and proved to be the best SEC team.
2. Alabama – Anthony Grant is doing a amazing coaching job this season. His team is the best in the west but can it last?
3. Kentucky – Coach Cal is going to have to cuss more to get inspired play out of the young guns heading down the stretch.
4. Vanderbilt – the Commodores seemed to have corrected their past ways and it shows with a string of wins. Heading down the stretch come be a team to watch.
5. UGa – Bulldogs have the right tools but seems each game has a different performance. Only thing holding them back it seems is them.
6. Tenn – Vols have the talent, can Coach Pearl get them going in the right direction with his return?
7. Ole Miss – Even Andy Kennedy would be proud.
8. South Carolina – If this team ever started running half-court plays not street ball, they could be dangerous.
9. Miss State – This team’s drama is more fun to watch.
10. Arkansas – Nolan Richardson is even unhappy with these Hogs.
11. LSU – go ahead and say it – “thank god for Auburn.”
12. Auburn – consider this season over.
