The USC Gamecocks (14-11, 5-6 SEC) will host the No. 20 Tennessee Vols (19-6, 7-4) today at 1:30 p.m. at the Colonial Life Arena.
This is a match-up that has been not so kind to the Gamecocks. SC has not beaten the Vols since Feb. 17, 2007, and UT has dominated the series winning 8 of the last 10 meetings between these squads.
Last Game:
The Vols turned a close game into a blowout midway the first half after a 9-0 run gave them a 27-12 lead three minutes before halftime. The rout didn’t end as UT cruised to a 79-53 victory behind 30 points from forward Wayne Chism. Did not help that USC shot 27% that day either.
Who to watch:
What will happen:
Of course we have to say that Devan has to have a good day scoring the ball and getting to the basket. Devan is the offensive engine for SC. Also forward Sam Muldrow, who set career highs with 23 points and four 3s vs.
UT has size and length that must be contained to some degree. SC must block out and get some rebounds. UT can not be allowed to score easy buckets. Last game the SC transition defense was bad so that has to improve this game to be successful. UT with Chism, is just a bad match up for
