2010 SEC Coach of the Year: Steve Spurrier

Congrats to Gamecocks Head Football Coach Steve Spurrier for being named SEC Coach of the Year by his peers.  He beat out Auburn’s Gene Chizik for the award it seems.  Spurrier deserved it for guiding USC to new heights, as USC won the SEC Eastern Divsion for the first time – ever.

Spurrier also lead the Gamecocks to just their third season ever with more than eight wins this year. South Carolina is 9-4 and ranked No. 19 in the country heading into the Dec. 31 Chick-fil-A Bowl against Florida State.
