Us blogging Gamecocks will be traveling to Florida for the big game. We look forward to enjoying this game before, during and especially after. In thinking what would be the best way to tailgate, we thought – Gator Tail.
Here is a recipe for Gator tail as the Gamecocks head towards history this weekend as they play for the SEC East Crown:
- 4 quarters of Defense
- 7 receptions of Alson
- 120+ yards of Lattimore
- 220 passing yards of Garcia
- 10 pounds of Gator Tail
- 3 sacks of Gator QB’s
- 1 interception
- Dash of Spurrier Play-calling
Take ingredients mix well and fry for 60 minutes with a 20 minutes break in the middle. Tip for cooking: Turnover at least once every 30 minutes will keep the Gators tail from drying out.
Okay, Okay……Here is a real recipe for Gator Tail for those of you that like that kind of thing as we desire the one above more….
Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon coarse pepper
- 1 pound gator meat
- Vegetable oil, for frying
Directions
Mix flour, salt, and pepper in a large bowl with hands. Rinse gator and drainwater. Dip in flour mixture. Shake off excess flour. Heat 1/2-inch vegetable oil in a deep frying pan to 350 degrees F. Drop the floured gator in pan and fry for 5 minutes or until golden brown. Serve immediately.
