The Bloguin network is growing especially on the NCAA side which is truly wonderful and I encourage you to check out the growing network. Due to this growth and great addition of quality blogs, we here at LOHD thought it would be good to get some of the blogs involved in a roundtable discussion about college football.
This is the first one and I hope many more will follow. For the first, we tackle preseason predictions. Here is what everyone was asked to answer:
Conference Champs for each BCS Conference
Heisman Trophy winner
BCS Champion
Here are our thoughts and at the bottom of this is a link to others on the Bloguin network that participated so go read their thoughts on the same topic. Someone is going to be right…
ACC Champ
Going with Virginia Tech. Just think they have to right mix of a strong defense and offense in 2010 to claim ACC glory. I think they will beat FSU in the championship game.
Big East Champ
Picking Pitt. Their talent is no match for the Big East. They have a strong running game and great talent overall. They should coast to the title but could hit some rough patches out of conference.
Big Ten Champ
The Ohio State University will win it in 2010. As long as they can get by PSU and Iowa which they should, ol’ Jim should lift another conference trophy again in 2010. Do they have enough to make a BCS run?
Pac 10
Whoever wins the Civil War will win the conference crown. Torn between the Ducks and Beavers as either could claim this crown.
SEC
The Tide will roll again – ‘Bama. Don’t laugh but I truly see Alabama and USC in the championship game.
Mountain West
Horned Frogs all the way. Who else plays in this league? TCU.
MAC
Got to admit that not really sure about this one. I see Temple with their running game making noise but don’t want to count out Ohio or Central Michigan. Going out on a limb and thinking Northern Illinois will shock some and win the MAC.
Big 12
Oklahoma Sooners get back on top. This is Stoops year to get his boys back on top.
Conf USA
Always been a fan of QB Case Keenum and for that reason going with his team – Houston. I see him putting up silly numbers and leading his team to the conference crown.
Sun Belt
Gotta choose Coach Rick Stockstill’s club to win in 2010. He has a good offense with a good QB. Always been a fan of Rick since his days at Carolina. Middle Tenn State.
WAC
The team that plays on the blue field will win this conference and it is because of Kellen Moore. Bosie State.
Heisman Trophy Winner
I would love to see Navy’s Ryan Dobbs win this but not sure he can get the votes as not everyone watches Navy play. Will ESPN hype him up to help? I think Terrelle Pryor of Ohio State will win this award in 2010. BUT I am pulling for Dobbs.
BCS Trophy
I think it would be interesting to see a Boise State or TCU sitting at 11-1 with an Ohio State and Alabama with a comparable record. This would create a nice stir that fuels the BCS debate. Something is telling me this is Ohio State’s year; maybe it is the summer heat?
Thoughts on any of the above?
