Gamecocks Football Recruiting: Joe Harris Commits

Joe Harris of Lithonia, Georgia is the newest Gamecock.  Harris has given verbal pledge to sign with the University of South Carolina football team and be part of their Class of 2012.

He announced his choice at a DeKalb County media day for high school athletes at Hallford Stadium in Clarkston, Ga.  Harris chose USC over Clemson, Mississippi State, Georgia and Alabama just to name a few of his multiple offers.

The 6-foot-4, 295-pound Harris, who has been rated as high as the No. 1 offensive line recruit in the State of Georgia, is rated by both 247sports and Rivals as a four-star OL prospect.

Harris is the second recruit this week after defensive back T.J. Gurley pledged to be a Gamecock also.  All said the Gamecocks now have 17 players committed for its 2012 recruiting class, including 7 from Georgia.

Welcome to the newest Gamecock, here he is in action –
