South Carolina football has been missed since the close of the 2010 football season. It was amazing to wintess the USC Gamecocks claim the SEC East title and let’s hope it was not a one hit wonder. Today marks the beginning of USC practices as they prepare to defend that crown and march towards a BCS berth.
The beloved Gamecocks have all the right things going for them heading into the 2011 season from the talent to the favorable schedule. Coach Spurrier, along with the fans, know that this is not your daddy’s Gamecocks as this team is ready to turn that page and begin a new chapter of USC football.
Much like the baseball team has done in sitting a new standard, the football team looks to match those efforts. It began in 2010 and the journey continues today with the opening of camp.
Please continue to follow the journey with us here at Leftover Hot Dog as we are just three USC grads that bleed garnet, thinks of “Black Magic” in a good way, practices home run swings like Taneyhill and strikes a Heisman pose like Marcus Lattimore.
Our intentions are simply to be a differing voice for USC sports, there are many websited devoted to USC coverage but hopefully in our opinions and work – you can relate. We’ve been there, through the 1-10 and all the “what if’s” both before and since. This 2011 season is going to be special and hopefully we can help to capture this special moment in Gamecock history.
