Just Give the Lott Award to Stephon Gilmore

University of South Carolina junior defensive back Stephon Gilmore has been named to the 2011 Lott Trophy Watch List. The award goes to the top defensive player in college football.

I ask you to look at this list and tell me who is better than Gilmore.  I feel he deserves the award and will have a impact year in 2011. As long as USC wins the SEC East in 2011 then Gilmore should win the award as he is a key player in the USC defense.

Make this simple…Gilmore fuels the defense, defense aids the Gamecocks in winning in the SEC.  Award the catalyst, right?

So again, look at this list and tell me who will beat out Gilmore for the award…

Gilmore is a 6-1, 194-pound junior cornerback that was a All-SEC selection last season and led the team with 79 tackles.  I predict him to be earn another SEC selection, 100 tackles and a few INTs.  He wins, don’t you agree?
