Mumme Poll Ballot: Week Thirteen

Here’s my Mumme Poll ballot for this week.  After watching the Auburn and Oregon games, I stil feel comfortable with Auburn at number one.  I put the top 10 in alphabetical order and listed a few of the also-rans and why they aren’t in the Top 10.

Arkansas

The Razorbacks picked up an impressive victory over LSU.  They end with a nice 10-2 record.

Auburn

Tigers had to rally from way down to beat the Crimson Tide.  That’s good enough to keep them on top.

LSU

The Tigers now have losses to Auburn and Arkansas.  They also have wins against 3 current Top 25 teams.

Michigan State

The Spartans are riding that Wisconsin win to the Top 10.  That, and they’re just aren’t that many deserving teams.

Nebraska

The Missouri and Oklahoma State wins are quality enough to move the Huskers back in.

Oklahoma

They made a statement against their instate rivals, now they get to go play Nebraska in the Big 12 Championship game.

Oregon

The Ducks didn’t get ahead of Arizona until the second half, but when they got ahead, they got way ahead.

Stanford

The Cardinal keeps winning.  They appear to be a sure thing for the BCS now.

TCU

Apparently their opponents are so bad they can be beaten to a pulp with the Frogs’ back up quarterback.

Wisconsin

So, when exactly did the Badgers develop such a potent offensive attack?

Didn’t make the Cut

Alabama

The Crimson Tide had been on the fringe for a few weeks, but losing to Auburn isn’t the way to get back in.

Boise State

The Broncos streak of beating up on the Little Sisters of the Poor comes to an end.  Anyone who doesn’t go undefeated against Boise’s schedule doesn’t belong in the Top 10, and when you look at it objectively, they may not belong in the Top 25.

Ohio State

This team has ZERO wins over the Top 25.

Oklahoma State

That was a tough loss to Oklahoma.  They now have a second ‘good’ loss to go with Nebraska, but their only good win is Texas A&M.

South Carolina

If this team hadn’t lost to Kentucky they would be in the Top 10.

Texas A&M

They have three losses to Arkansas, Missouri and Oklahoma State, but wins over Oklahoma and Nebraska.  There are just too many losses.

Virginia Tech

Top Ten teams never lose to I-AA teams.  End of conversation.
