With three weeks left in the season, the bowl picture is getting clearer. Here are our projections for the SEC after this weekend’s games.
BCS National Championship: Auburn v Oregon
Both teams survived scares over the weekend. They hype surrounding the game will be all about LaMichael James and Cam Newton.
Sugar Bowl: LSU v TCU
The horned frogs survived a scare against San Diego State. LSU has one remaining test against Arkansas. Of course, this will change if Auburn loses to Alabama or South Carolina.
Capital One Bowl: Alabama v Ohio State
The Carpital One bowl would love to have these two programs in Orlando. Both would travel well, and it would be a high ratings game for TV.
Cotton Bowl: Arkansas v Oklahoma State
The Hogs are always a popular pick for the Cotton Bowl. Oklahoma State will have their hands full defending Ryan Mallett.
Outback Bowl: South Carolina v Michigan State
Gamecocks go back to Tampa to take on South Carolina alumnus Mark Dantionio.
Chick-Fil-A Bowl: Florida v. Miami
Georgia Dome plays host to battle of Sunshine State rivals.
Gator Bowl: Georgia v Michigan
This will be another premier program match up. Dawgs and Wolverines will be great for the Gator’s return to the SEC.
Music City: Mississippi State v NC State
Another SEC / ACC battle should get some moderate attention.
Liberty: Kentucky v. Central Florida
CUSA champs play Bluegrass state champs in a game that won’t draw too much interest, well, anywhere.
Birmingham Bowl: Tennessee v South Florida
Exceeding all expectations, Tennessee makes it to a bowl. Their reward: a horrible game in a horrible stadium.
