Details of Jake Williams Suspension Emerge

Details have emerged surrounding why USC outfielder and designated hitter Jake Williams was suspended indefinitely prior to the Citadel game.  Williams was charged with providing beer to two underage men during a post-game party Saturday.

Sad to see this poor choice made and honestly the suspension is warranted.  Williams broke the law and now must pay the price.

Williams faces up to $680 in fines for each violation and has an April 21st court date.

But what surprises me the most out of this situation is not so much the “providing of beer” but the scenario that involves his roommate, who was also arrested, just read this on why his roommate was arrested –

{Police} “found a small refrigerator converted into a grow box inside a second-floor closet. It had four young marijuana plants inside, according to a police report. Officers also found marijuana inside a pill bottle and a pill bottle with a stem and a makeshift bowl.”

This screams out at me because Jake lived there so no hiding the facts that in his residence pot was being grown.  Geez…
