This is a guest post from a loyal www.leftoverhotdog.com reader in London. This was sent to us right after the Mississippi State win.
Well Mr. Flounder, we have a win. Spurrier’s got his 50th USC win, Marcus Lattimore now has over 2,000 yards rushing in the garnet & black, Alshon Jeffery is worthy of all the NFL talk {17+ yards per reception this year.}
Thank God for the bye especially knowing the team has lost Marcus Lattimore. After the Heisman nonsense, we saw the last four defenses adopt a “Stuff Marcus” strategy which allowed other parts of the offense to step up. I pray for a quick heal and for him to come back stronger.
October 29 will be a big day…
I’m ashamed to have to ask ‘Gamecock Nation’ to, of course ask for a Carolina win versus UT, PULL FOR FLORIDA. I’m biased as my best friend lives in Boca Raton but aside from that if the mathematically challenged take a calculator out, you will see that a Georgia loss and an ensuing Carolina win against Florida is better than “Scattered, Smothered, and Covered” at the Waffle House after a Baby oil and Tequila chugging contest at Five Points with the Carolina Cheerleaders. Wait, nevermind….
Mr. Connor Shaw. Welcome to a road game in the SEC, not the same as Williams Brice against Kentucky. You had a good day, you have some challenges ahead. Take it one game at a time buddy, and welcome to the pressure of a Spurrier QB. Go spend the next two weeks learning a audible. Can’t be baby fed by Spurrier from the sidelines forever. You have a great arm but playing against high school junior varsity Kentucky in front of a friendly crowd at Williams Brice is not the same as the Gators or Razorbacks. We believe in you young man and support you fully. Run that ball more, you have wheels, use them especially now that Latti is out.
Melvin Ingram and DJ Swearinger are now officially classified as “Weapons of Mass Destruction” by the United Nations. If Melvin hits you, your just flat dead. If DJ hits you, he will hold you up and hit you four times before you hit the ground. Not sure which is worse but you don’t want none.
Have to speak up regarding Mr. Garcia…..First, congratulations on a great career as a college QB at South Carolina. I have laughed and cried as all Carolina Football fans have over the years on your career and im glad to say the relationship has been my pleasure. You are a fine QB and have been an inspiration and in my humble opinion – a Gamecock Great.
Now im going to have to apologize to Mr. Spurrier, I have an opinion he may disagree with because I know he can tear the eyes out of the press he doesnt like but hell I’m in London so here goes….Bring Garcia back into the fold.
He drank a few beers and smoked a joint…At the University of South Carolina…on a weekend.
Once we get over the “holier than thou” student athlete flavor of the week, the guy is in beautiful Columbia, SC, he’s a QB, he’s in college and he’s not 70 years old. I’m fully aware we hold athletes to a higher standard but the pros outweigh the cons. He has an arm. He has presence on the field. His teamates respect him. He is not an angel but who was in college? I shudder to think what i did when the sun went down in Columbia while i was there but I would be much happier seeing Stephen standing next to Mr. Spurrier with his new haircut and able to run in for a 3rd and 8 against Florida in the 4th quarter than (no offense to our backup QBs) to Johnny 3rd String and Johnny 4th String QB. Sorry and I know it is crying over spilled milk…..Shaw be the man.
With the five hour time swing here in London, I will now sign off. Wife doesn’t understand why I’m typing this rant at 2 am. Your most loyal, humble, and dedicated Gamecock Fan, 4,000 miles away from dear old Columbia. Go Carolina!
