Here is a good video on the Gamecocks Baseball team, granted it is a video on them going into the SEC Tournament but still is good to watch due to its’ relevancy even now with its description of what makes them team special.
Talks about how this year’s team does not have that HR punch like past USC baseball teams so they rely on “defensive pitching” and “small-ball.” Meaning limiting opposing teams’ threats with quality pitching all 9 innings while being scrappy with the bat (bunting, etc). Keys for the Coastal series as well.
Also mentions the importance of Jackie Bradley, Jr. He is my pick for team MVP for the 2010 season overall but I know some may disagree but as this video shows it is about what he does on and off the field.
