Bad news for a member of the South Carolina football team, as WIS is reporting that Kentrell (Kenny) Davis has been arrested and charged with third degree criminal sexual conduct.
According to investigators with the Richland County Sheriff’s Department, the alleged 21-year-old victim, said she went to Davis’ apartment around 11 p.m. on May 31 after leaving Five Points that evening. Once at the Maryland Street apartment, the victim says Davis had sexual intercourse without her consent.
Davis turned himself in Thursday night at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center where he was given a $20,000 surety bond. Next step is likely a trial. Due to the arrest, as typical with USC, he is currently not a member of the team.
As for the impact of all this, well as far as the football team side of this, it is not a huge deal. Davis provided key depth on the OL but he was a fifth-year senior that had limited success on the gridiron.
Now for Davis on a personal level, well the truth will come out via a trial I am sure. On the surface, this is not good. If true and found guilty, then USC should cut ties with him as this action is not becoming of a Gamecock.
