South Carolina Baseball 2012 Field Report: UNC-Asheville

The South Carolina baseball team got back on the winning side as they got a 8-1 win over UNC Asheville Wednesday night at Carolina Stadium.

Quick recap…The Gamecocks were led by freshman Joel Seddon on the mound as he picked up his first career victory in his first career start.  Seddon allowed just two hits over five innings.  Adam Westmoreland, Vince Fiori, Hunter Privette and Logan Munson also pitched for the Gamecocks.  The strong arms held UNC-A at bay.

The good news out of this win was not only the solid pitching but the offensive production of Christian Walker, he had three RBIs.  Also another bright spot was LB Danztler and Connor Bright, who each had two RBIs.  Dantzler also had a pair of doubles.

This and that….Carolina improves to 10-1. They also had no errors in this game. However, they did leave eight players on base.

Next up….The Gamecocks play host to Princeton this weekend for a three game series opening Friday night.
