For The Record: Gamecocks Should End Recruitment of Golson

For the record, the South Carolina Gamecocks football team and three-star linebacker Brandon Golson (Georgia Military College) need to part ways.

The recruitment of Golson is playing out in the recruiting media outlets worse than a episode of “Days of Our Lives.” There are more twists and uncertainity since the day he said “yes” to being a Gamecock. This should not be the case. Either Golson wants to be a Gamecock or he does not.

One moment you get his high school head coach, Walt Wilson, telling TheBigSpur.com that he is going to stay true to his commitment and come to USC. The next day he is splashed on the Texas A&M Aggies 247sports outlet singing a different tune. His words were he is a Aggies lean. That my friend is a ‘WTF’ that Steve Spurrier Jr. should be saying.

I fully understand that young men will commit then visit other schools. That is fine but to commit then make a show out of providing evidence that you are not solid in your word. Well, I say pull the scholly offer and move on to someone that wants to wear the “garnet and black.”

If Golson can not see that USC has a spot for him amongst the linebacking corp and their is a chance to play from the start. If he does not want to be a Gamecock. Well, end the recruitment of him.
