The South Carolina football recruiting Class of 2015 continues to grow as Stone Mountain (Ga.) Stephenson end Chauncey Rivers pledged to USC while on campus for an unofficial visit yesterday.
The 6-foot-2, 238-pounder chose the Gamecocks over offers from programs like Auburn, Florida, Georgia Tech, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Tennessee and Vanderbilt among others.
This is a huge boost for USC as Rivers is ranked the No. 9 WDE in the 247 Composite. Having this type player pledge has positioned USC high in the 2015 rankings. Let's hope they stay high and the chances for this are strong.
Rivers is a player with huge upsdie at defensive end. He has played a little tight end but the plan is to use him on the line.
The Gamecocks are not only "DB U" but it seems it is also becoming "DE U." The reason for landing Rivers was Coach Ward and the style of play the Gamecocks use with their ends. All positive things to hear and in closing, welcome Mr. Rivers.
