The South Carolina Gamecocks picked a top-notch quarterback tonight as Connor Mitch of Raleigh, NC committed to USC.
Mitch announced his decision on Twitter account saying “JUST COMMITTED TO THE UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH CAROLINA!!!!!!” Mitch, a 4-star recruit, chose the Gamecocks over offers from LSU, Alabama, North Carolina, Auburn, Florida and several others.
Last season Mitch passed for 3900 yards and 51 touchdowns as a junior.
Mitch is the nation’s No. 11 pro-style quarterback prospect, the No. 236 overall prospect and the No. 9 prospect in the state of North Carolina according to 247Sports. Rivals rates the 6’3″, 220 Mitch at 4 stars, the 15th best QB prospect in the country.
Mitch is South Carolina’s ninth commitment of the 2012 class.
