The South Carolina Gamecocks landed a outstanding player in Matt Rolin. Not only is he a 4-star linebacker, a need for the football team going forward but he bleeds garnet and black.
This young man is the type player every team desires to have not just from his abilities on the football field but what he brings from a leadership standpoint. Matt Rolin is and will be a leader for USC. He has the “it” factor and don’t be surprised in the future that he is the defacto leader of the defense.
As for his playing abilities, he is a perfect fit in USC’s 4-2-5 scheme. He has good cover skills but also good pursuit off the edge.

Rolin was offered as both a tight end and a linebacker. Rolin has family connections to USC and that helped to push him over the edge to choose the Gamecocks over the likes of FSU. Rolin is No. 13 in the 2013 class.
