Good news on the Gamecocks recruiting front. The University of South Carolina football team signed junior college offensive lineman Kaleb Broome to a National Letter of Intent yesterday. Also the USC football team last night gained their 26th commitment for the 2011 class when TE Drew Owens of Charlotte made his decision to go with the Gamecocks over NC State.
Owens is the first tight end to publicly commit to the Gamecocks for this class. This is a huge get for Spurrier’s club as he has tremendous talent and will help in the passing game.
Broome, a 6-6, 320-pounder, has spent the past two years at Georgia Military College and will start classes at USC in Jan. ’11. He has three years to play two. He should be put to work right away on the O line.
Welcome Mr. Broome and Mr. Owens…glad you will be wearing garnet and black.
