Kelcy Quarles failed to make a needed 840 on the SAT to qualify to enroll at the University of South Carolina. Kelcy was a highly sought after defensive linemen that chose USC over many. He was predicted to be in the mix for playing time at defensive line this fall. Big blow to Coach Spurrier.
The 6-foot-3, 267-pound Parade All-American finished with 77 tackles, nine sacks, 17.5 tackles for loss and two blocked kicks as a senior last fall at Greenwood High.
Hate to see this happen to a great kid and a great athlete. Hope for the best for Kelcy as he enrolls at either prep school or some sort of junior college for the fall semester to get his studies on track for USC come 2011.
